Porn Literacy?
Since 2015, I have taught sexual health education to over 5,000 young people in schools, youth groups, and community spaces. Questions about porn come up all the time.​

Now I get it: there’s this myth out there claiming teens are just too young to talk about porn and bringing it up might somehow “destroy their innocence.” The truth - they’re likely being exposed to it long before we’re ready to have "the talk." According to a study by Common Sense Media:​

Nearly 3 in 4 teens have been exposed to online porn, with more than half encountering accidentally.
Saw porn by ages 13 or younger.
Young people are naturally curious about sex and sexuality, but watching porn as a learning tool - not the way to go.
Even in states like California that mandate sex ed, it skips over critical topics like media literacy and porn. So, if we’re not talking about it, where are they getting their info? Young people need clear, judgment-free guidance to navigate the media they’re encountering. Let’s make sure it’s from a source who gets it—oh hey, that’s me!
